Title: The Art of Selection: Why Prioritization Outpacing Speed

In the high-pressure world of software development and project management, we are often pushed to move “faster”. Timely reporting and swift processing are, of course, essential skills. However, I’ve realized that speed without direction is just a faster way to get to the wrong place.

The true core of effective task processing lies in two things: clarification of requirements and adjustment of priorities. Before jumping into execution, we must take the time to understand exactly what is needed and, more importantly, determine which task holds the highest value.

This philosophy applies beyond the office. As a father and a lifelong learner, I find myself constantly juggling various roles—blogging, studying English, and spending time with Yuan and Chae-E. If I don’t pick the “most important thing” to do first, the day disappears in a blur of minor tasks.

Today, I choose to pause and select. I will focus on the one task that truly moves the needle, ensuring that my energy is spent with purpose. Let’s stop just being busy and start being effective. Let’s pick the right one and move forward.
